Teaching
I began teaching in 2014 and joined the faculty full-time in 2018. I teach in the undergraduate program in all years. I am a clinical and lab instructor, as well as a faculty advisor, supporting and supervising 4th year nursing students in their integrated practicum. I am the course professor for NURS 205: Medical-Surgical Nursing I.
My personal nursing experience lies in acute medical/surgical and critical care. In my role at Queen’s, I spend a lot of time with students in the clinical setting. My role is to assist in fostering a clinical environment that promotes growth, and to support students in their transition to acute care settings. I strive to help students develop an inquisitive nature and to uphold fundamental values such as compassion and empathy. I enjoy connecting with students and am part of the School of Nursing Wellness group, along with other faculty and students, that aims to promote health and wellness as well as connection within the student body and with faculty & staff.
